Volunteer Opportunities

Make a difference! Change a future!

You can help children and young people.

Giving a few hours a fortnight makes a huge difference in a child’s life. It can also help you gain new skills, make new friends, and get that satisfaction from helping others.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, and range from 16 to 70 years old. You don’t need qualifications, or particular experience.

You do need to be:

  • A good listener
  • genuinely interested in young people
  • friendly
  • non judgemental
  • able to commit to the specific volunteer role you apply for
  • not barred from working with children or young people

At the moment we have two volunteering opportunities:

  • Mentoring a child or a young person (must be 16 or over)
  • Being an “Independent Visitors” (a sort of mentor or befriender) for a young person who is in care or “looked after” (must be 18 or over)

You will be supported and rewarded by:

  • Receiving training and supervision to help you develop your skills
  • Getting out of pocket expenses paid for
  • Receiving invited to coffee mornings & social events

We welcome individuals from all walks of life and if you are currently a student make sure to check out our page on the top reasons why volunteering benefits your time studying!

If you think you can help, or know someone else who might be interested just click on the Mentor or Independent Visitor link to find out more! Or contact Jess on 01429 891444.
