Who can take part?

The programme is aimed at parents who might be experiencing difficulties in their relationships which might be impacting upon the children in the household. Parents may be separated and live in different homes.

  • Parents must be over 18 years and have at least one child under the age of 11 living in Hartlepool.
  • Both must be willing to take part (even where they are no longer living together are separated or divorced)
  • Must be able to attend the full 16 week course.
  • Families should not be in current care proceedings or family law proceedings.

The process is quick and straight forward. In many instances we may be able to complete a referral form over the phone where you have sought parental permission.

Our experience suggests that one parent may be reluctant or hesitant in participating. Effective referrals tend to come from those practitioners who have found a way to think and talk with both parents about the programme.
